I've been wanting to make these for a while..they're the Bell bags you see in the Animal Crossing series! They came out way better than I expected, and I'm really proud of them. ^^ In this tough economy, you can always count on Bells! X3
They're about 3" tall and 3.5" wide, stuffed with fiberfill, tied with suede yarn, and accented with brown wooden stars that I painted individually by hand. The stars were a pain. XD
The great thing about these is that you can use them either as plushies OR as coin purses--they're basic drawstring pouches and aren't sewn shut, so you can just take the stuffing out of them and carry your change around.
Hopefully I'll find out soon if I'm getting a table at AnimeNEXT; assuming I am, I'll be selling all 20 of these there. If I can get a tabletop artificial tree to hang them from, even better. XD
I'm not sure yet how much I should sell these for..what do you guys think?

Might I recommend buying a money tree decoration? To hang them off of. It's a little plastic tree that people tie money to on the ends, you see them at graduations and weddings.
I'm terrible at thinking of prices. I've been meaning to sell my Bob-omb Bags for over a YEAR, but because I can't think of a price and/or how to mass produce them.... blurgh. How long did it take you to make these? They're really cute, I've never sewn a drawstring bag before!
Ooh, I agree completely x.x I can never figure out how much to sell my stuff for, partly because I'm so easy to sway..I always end up selling myself at least a little bit short.
I went and checked out your Bob-omb Bags and they're so wicked awesome!! I definitely think those would sell really well for you! I think that the hardest part of pricing your art is evaluating it, finding its worth; you have to take into account how much time and effort went into it, plus expenses and such..it can be a big pain, haha.
It's hard to say exactly how long it took because I cut the fabric/painted the stars/sewed the drawstrings all at once, rather than one by one, to save time. I would say, breaking it down, probably 20-30 minutes on each one. I found a pretty simple drawstring pattern a while back that fit the project really well, so I guess I lucked out. XD. Thanks for the compliment ^.^

Hmm..if I had to compare it to anything, I'd say probably the size of a round water balloon. XD. Fits comfortably in one's hand and would hold a good amount of pocket change. It's hard to calculate cost because, save for the yarn (which cost around $7.50), I already had everything else I needed to make these. The fleece, when I bought it, was probably around $8-10 for the amount I used.
I was thinking perhaps $3-5 per bag, given the total time/effort it took and the blisters on my fingers trying to pull the yarn through the fabric. x.x Not sure if that's unreasonable, though.

Sounds reasonable enough to me, I'd happily pay that to own one of your ballbags. Living in England and all I can't see that being a possibility, but it's still a reasonable price.

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Depending on how big they are you should charge- but from here I think most people would be willing to pay 3-5$ for each. I definitely would ;_;
